Non-league Maldon & Tiptree produce Cup upset away against Orient
Isthmian League North Division side Maldon & Tiptree pulled off a major shock in the FA Cup first round, winning 2-1 at Leyton Orient.
Danny Parish opened the scoring just before half-time, sparking wild celebrations, and Jorome Slew doubled their lead in the 65th minute.
Substitute James Dayton halved the deficit for Orient, who played against 10 men for the final six minutes following Parish’s dismissal.
Macclesfield’s problems deepened as they were the victims of a giant-killing by Isthmian League Premier Division side Kingstonian. League Two Town confirmed the game would go ahead after speculation it would be postponed as a result of a players’ strike due to the club’s failure to pay their wages.
But no first-team players were included, with their side consisting of youngsters and loanees, and they paid the price. Dan Hector and Louie Theophanous netted inside 11 minutes before Dan Bennett and Theophanous scored in the second half to give Kingstonian a thumping 4-0 win.
Elsewhere, former Macclesfield manager Sol Campbell saw his Southend side beaten 1-0 by Dover of the National League. Campbell, a winner of the competition as a player, has yet to taste victory as Southend manager

Jonny Smith struck the winner to ensure Oldham beat Gateshead 2-1. Filipe Morais put the League Two team in front in the 20th minute before Liam Agnew equalised, but Smith won the game 13 minutes from time.

York were made to pay for missed chances in their 1-0 defeat by
Altrincham. After Sean Newton hit the crossbar and Andy Bond failed to score from the penalty spot, Tom Peers scored the winner eight minutes from time.
Chis Bush’s 83rd-minute equaliser secured Bromley, top of the National League, a 1-1 draw at
