Busy summer for women
Heyhoe Flint Trophy centre stage
The Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy will be the centrepiece of the busiest summer ever for women’s domestic cricket in England. The women’s 50-over competition saved the calendar from complete abandonment last season and will return alongside the Women’s Regional T20 competition. It will run from May to September with 56 fixtures scheduled for both tournaments. If both competitions and the Hundred go ahead, there will be three times more women’s professional domestic matches than in any previous season. It is part of the major restructuring which began last year, but was hampered by the pandemic. Southern Vipers will defend the RHF Trophy against seven other regions, and all will compete for the T20 title, too.
