Meanwhile, world No5 Stefanos Tsitsipas claimed his first Masters title with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Andrey Rublev in the final of the Monte Carlo Masters. “I would consider it as the [best] week of my life so far,” Tsitsipas, of Greece, said.

John Catlin defeated Maximilian Kieffer on the fifth hole of a dramatic play-off to claim a third win in eight months at the Austrian Open. The pair could not be separated after the first four play-off trips up the 18th. But Kieffer found water at the fifth attempt and recorded a quintuple-bogey eight to hand Catlin victory.
