Four summer signings who could transform their clubs

- By Sam Dean Bryan Gil

Sevilla to Tottenham, £22m

It is not just the long hair that makes Bryan Gil seem like a throwback to a bygone era. It is also the way Tottenham’s new winger (below) plays the game, hovering on the touchline as he waits for the opportunity to dribble at his opponents. One of the brightest talents in Spanish football, Gil is a signing that brings a new dynamic to the Tottenham attack. A left-footed winger with a slight frame but frighteningly fast feet, Gil’s enthusiasm for running with the ball and going down the outside of his full-back means that Tottenham have a new threat to go alongside the existing dangers of Harry Kane (if he stays at the club) and Son Heung-min. Last year, when Gil was playing on loan at Eibar, he completed 67 dribbles in the top flight. Only four including Lionel Messi, completed more.
