Material gains Look closely and you will spot textile designer Eleanor Pritchard’s cushions and throws in many of the stylish homes featured in these pages. Her skilful melding of colour and pattern ensures that they add interest to a room without shouting for attention. Grand designer There seems to be no stopping the British designer Tom Dixon. Soft spot Chances are that you will feel more inclined to have a cosy lie-in than spring out of bed and hit the gym on these bleak January mornings. Leave the resolutions until spring, I say, and make lounging in bed that little bit more luxurious with a beautiful velvet bedspread by the Swedish brand Linum. Harbour thoughts If you need to get your life in order in the coming weeks – perhaps that tax-return deadline is looming ominously – treat yourself to some new stationery as an incentive to get on with it.
