Freeze fame

The Daily Telegraph - Telegraph Magazine - - CONTENT - Adam Starkey

Feel a chill settling into your mood? That’ll be the jovial Christmas spirit expelling its dying breath, leaving you to grind away at life’s monotonous stone for another year, stripped of carol singers and fairy lights. But January isn’t all cold snaps and broken resolutions, for even after the pop-up seasonal rinks have been packed away, ice-skating remains a popular pastime. Especially among sadistic spectators who love the sight of toddlers, teenagers and nervous dads failing, falling and fracturing bits of themselves. But there is no need to feel guilty. It’s January that’s bitter, and certainly not you.
