NEW YORK, 1991 I wanted to take a real portrait of Naomi. I watched her before she got dressed, sitting on a chair just the way she was, then I took a mental note and recreated that shot on the other side of the room where the light was better. I had no trouble with her. I’ve worked with Naomi since she was 15, and when you work with someone from such a young age they have a different attitude towards you: they kind of do as they’re told. Naomi is famous for not doing as she’s told, but I like her. She’s a really sweet girl – she just gets herself in trouble sometimes.
