The Daily Telegraph - Telegraph Magazine - - With This Ring -

THE ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY described the giving of the rings as a ritual symbol of ‘unending love and faithfulness’. After the couple had exchanged their vows, Prince Harry placed a gold band on Ms Markle’s finger. The ring is made from Welsh gold, a tradition started by the late Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother when she got married in 1923. Harry will be wearing a wedding ring (his is made of platinum), unlike the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Edinburgh, neither of whom wear one. The Prince of Wales wears a signet ring.
