A hip London department store and the world’s oldest fine-art auctioneer seem unlikely bedfellows, but Dover Street Market and Sotheby’s have teamed up for an exhibition of vintage pieces. Curated by DSM’S vice president Dickon Bowden, the selection features bold, brutalist gold including a 1960s Cartier necklace (left) and the engagement ring belonging to Adele Blochbauer (who was depicted in Klimt’s The Woman in Gold), alongside fine diamonds and gemstones. The jewels are on show within DSM’S fine jewellery department now before going under the hammer on 11 December. SRG
