Allen’s B-side Ch­eryl Tweedy caused a feud be­tween her and the singer. She later wrote in a blog­post, ‘Ch­eryl, I don’t re­ally want to look like you. I was be­ing ironic. No­body re­ally wants to look like you, they just think they do.’


On stage at the GQ Men of the Year Awards, Sir El­ton John com­mented on her ex­ces­sive drink­ing, to which she replied, ‘F— off El­ton. I am 40 years younger than you and have my whole life ahead of me.’


Tweet­ing about Court­ney Love af­ter a row at the NME Awards: ‘I would never fight with her, as a rule I don’t pick on crazy old ladies.’


Allen tweeted a photo of Ru­pert Mur­doch and Nigel Farage at a gar­den party along­side the host Evgeny Lebe­dev, owner of the Evening Stan­dard, with the caption: ‘Hope I’m not sit­ting next to Volde­mort or Fro­mage. I might be sick.’


She tweeted about Bri­tain’s post-brexit chances in the global econ­omy that, ‘A Global Bri­tain could be good, but the world still hates us cause, SLAV­ERY.’ She later deleted this.


Allen tweeted, ‘So dis­ap­pointed in this gov­ern­ment, but no longer sur­prised by them and their dis­re­gard for hu­man life… Air strikes in Syria with­out par­lia­men­tary ap­proval should be cause for con­cern for ev­ery­one.’
