Or­chard cock­tail

The flavours of apple and el­der­flower go fa­mously well to­gether, and the ad­di­tion of cu­cum­ber gives the drink an ex­tra burst of fresh­ness, per­fect for long sum­mer days.

— 100ml dry gin

— 150ml apple juice

— 2 tbsp el­der­flower cor­dial

— ice cubes

— ¼ cu­cum­ber, sliced

— ½ apple, sliced

— 2-4 small sprigs of laven­der

Pour the gin, apple juice and el­der­flower cor­dial into a cock­tail shaker with some ice and mud­dle. Don’t be too rough – you only need to com­bine. Add the sliced cu­cum­ber and apple to two long cock­tail glasses and pour over the gin mix.

Top with a laven­der stalk or two and en­joy.
