Freddie Flintoff on working out, walking the dogs and wearing flat caps

If anyone needs the 41-year-old former England cricketer and Top Gear host, he’ll be box-set bingeing with a cheeky Deliveroo

7.30am I never jump out of bed, I crawl out. Saturday lie-ins are now a thing of the past. In the winter, the boys [Corey, 13, and Rocky, 11] are playing football or I’m watching my daughter [Holly, 15] play netball. I’m not a big breakfast eater, I tend to skip it, so I’ll just have a coffee from our Nespresso machine. 9.30am I watch the kids play sport as much as I can. I try to juggle it, so I watch one kid one week and one the other. They might be playing at school in Manchester or away, so I could be driving to Yorkshire. Midday I’ll try to sneak in an hour’s workout, either at Total Fitness gym or training near where we live in Altrincham. I don’t really have a set routine but Stanley, a great 22-year-old lad who trains us, has got more of a plan. I row quite a bit; I can’t run because my knees are knackered. Afterwards, I have lunch at The Con Club and normally have steak. 3pm I drive to my parents’ in Preston. We walk the dogs: Milly, a white boxer, and Barnie, a French bulldog. With the nature of my job, and being away a lot, the people that I spend my free time with are the most important thing, not necessarily doing anything particularly flash. 5pm Back at home, we might walk into Altrincham and go to the Everyman cinema. We watch something for everyone. Rach [Rachael Wools Flintoff, Freddie’s wife and a former model] and I recently saw the new Tarantino, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. 7pm Afterwards we order Deliveroo. There’s a really nice local Thai, Phanthong, where I get a green curry. Then everyone enjoys chilling out. The kids have an Xbox, and their friends come round and treat the house as their own. Selfishly, I’d sooner have them round mine because I want to be involved in their games. 8pm I spend the rest of the evening trying to get control over the telly. I just watched the first three series of Peaky Blinders .I’veworna flat cap for years, but the problem now is that everyone thinks it’s because of that show – it’s a northern thing! 11pm I have a bath before bed. If

I don’t get enough sleep then I’m useless, so I try to get eight hours. ( Freddie Flintoff is the brand ambassador for Jacamo)
