Youcouldsipthesame wine with Melissa’s pâté and her frittata; make it a light, dry lemon-fresh Italian or a sauvignon blanc. The pâté would suit a young rosé, too. Hercrumblescallout for a chilled golden dessert wine.

EXTRA SPECIAL SOAVE CLASSICO 2020, ITALY, 12.5%, ASDA, £6

A great-value, easy-going white, zingy and dry with plenty of citrus zest, but relatively soft on the finish. A decent match for both the trout pâté and black k bean frittata.

TESCO COTEAUX D’AIX EN PROVENCE 2020, FRANCE, 12.5%, £7.50

In a traditional skittleshaped bottle, this southern French rosé is very dry and refreshing, with a twist of lemon zest and elegant red berries. Try it with the trout pâté.

CHATEAU DE NAVAILLES JURANCON 2016, FRANCE, 12%, SAINSBURY’S, £9.50 FOR A HALF BOTTLE

Melissa’s crumbles deserve a dessert wine. This one has lovely flavours of apricot, peach and honey. It’s very intense in sweetness, so a little goes a long way…
