Getting together isn’t just about meeting in restaurants and cafés or gathering for dinner parties at home – there is so much fun to be had eating outside as well. And while barbecues often mean casual dining, they can be anything, from a simple affair to enjoy on a glorious summer’s day to a big celebration. Next weekend, make yours something special, with a spread of dishes including, of course, a round of burgers. The ones I’m sharing here are a great combination of minced lamb with shop-bought pesto to add a fresh, herby flavour. The easy onion relish will work with the rest of your feast, too. As for salads, think beyond potato and try this vibrant beef and noodle dish spiked with plenty of chilli and lime. Finally, a batch of rich chocolate brownies will keep everybody happy and may even leave you with sweet treats to enjoy over the rest of the bank holiday. Enjoy!
