Data from the Registry Trust on­line shows that trav­ellers are miss­ing out or giv­ing up on ob­tain­ing the money due to them un­der EU law, with Thom­son ow­ing the most (£2.4 mil­lion).

“We know that each year eight mil­lion air pas­sen­gers are en­ti­tled to com­pen­sa­tion for a de­layed, can­celled or over­booked flight, but only two per cent will go on to file a claim,” said Mar­ius Fermi, from flight com­pen­sa­tion web­site AirHelp.
