QHigh-speed convenience is great – who’d have thought it ever possible to do a day trip by train from London to Amsterdam or Bordeaux? I’ve done both in the past year, the former on the new direct Eurostar to Amsterdam which started in April, the latter made possible by the new French high-speed line that opened in July 2017, knocking another hour off the journey
