When is the best time to visit?

The Balearics enjoy a temperate climate all year round so are perfect for outdoor sports such as golf, hiking and cycling from February through to June. The months of July and August can be sizzling hot, making them best for beach breaks. The coolest months are from November through to January when there can be periods of heavy rain, although these rarely last long. A curious phenomenon in Mallorca is that varying micro-climates can be experienced islandwide so that when it rains in the north it might be sunny in the south.

Are the beaches open?

Beaches are open and masks are not required. Groups of up to eight can meet but social distancing is encouraged.

What other Covid rules are in place?

Currently indoor dining at restaurants and cafés is permitted until midnight and groups of up to six people from different households can dine together. Dining on outside terraces is permitted until midnight for groups of up to eight people from different households. In the coming week the serving of drinks on bar terraces is scheduled to increase to 2am. Masks do not need to be worn outside but are still required inside restaurants and shops. There is no curfew in place.
