Among the more than 140 countries and territories on the amber list, there is a variety of entry requirements for those who are fully vaccinated. There are also other points to consider, including whether direct flights are in operation to and from the UK and if the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) is advising against travel to the destination. The latter can influence the ability to secure travel insurance and whether tour operators can go ahead with trips to that destination. However, Grant Shapps, the Transport Secretary, has indicated that the Government will no longer offer blanket advice not to travel to amber destinations. In addition to those destinations on the green list (see telegraph.co.uk/ tt-greenlist), these are among the countries and territories that will be open (as it stands) to fully vaccinated Britons without quarantine from July 19.

“Fully vaccinated” is defined as: two weeks after the second dose of Pfizer, Moderna, Oxford/AstraZeneca; four weeks after the single and only dose of Johnson & Johnson; or two weeks after the single dose of any of the above vaccines if you have previously tested positive for Covid-19. This can be shown via the NHS app or an NHS letter
