HEAL THYSELF
CHILL OUT
IN HVAR
Maslina Resort is probably Croatia’s most exclusive address, and reveals a quieter side of Hvar. Suites and villas are zen-contemporary, there’s a laidback beach club beside the blue Adriatic, a gorgeous pool terrace shaded by olive trees and a spa offering massages, treatments and more serious restorative programmes – there’s even one for kids. A week’s holiday at Maslina Resort costs £3,625 per person, B&B in a pool panoramic suite, including flights and speedboat transfers, with Black Tomato (0808 280 8248; blacktomato.com)
ITALY’S JOY FACTOR
Much is made of Puglia’s cuisine, but for idlers, its highlight is its beaches – some of the best on mainland Italy. It also has many enchanting luxury hotels, in former farmsteads. A sojourn at Borgo Egnazia is enough to make anyone smile, and now they have upped the joy factor by drafting in a Maestro della Risata – Laughter Master – and launching Happiness Breaks, a mix of classes, treatments and activity. Just down the lane, adults-only Masseria Calderisi opened last spring amid olive and lemon groves. Here, the focus is all about slowing down, eating well, enjoying nature – from the estate to the private beach – on two wheels or two feet. Double rooms at Borgo Egnazia from £273, B&B (00 39 08022 55000; borgoegnazia.com). Doubles at

RETREAT TO THE PELOPONNESE
Euphoria Retreat has the most uplifting setting, surrounded by forest in Greece’s magnificent Peloponnese Peninsula. Retreats range from serious commitment (weight loss, emotional transformation, sleep programmes) to pampering treat, and you can dip in and out as you choose. The outdoors plays a starring role: yoga, meditation and massages take place in open-air salas surrounded by trees. The suite terraces and pool have views over the landscape. A week’s Yoga & Mindfulness package costs from £2,979 per person, fullboard, including private yoga sessions and various nurturing treatments, with Healing Holidays (020 7843 3597; healingholidays.com)
HORIZONTAL HEALING IN IBIZA
The party island has reinvented itself as a wellness guru, practising a laidback, New Age kind of wellness – think sunrise yoga on gorgeous beaches, expressive dance and reiki healing, and nodding off while a shaman bongs a sound bowl. Many resorts have wellbeing as a focus, whether it is healthy eating or the full five-star spa offering, such as Six Senses Ibiza, set on its own sustainable agricultural estate; while boho-chic Oku Ibiza on Cala Gració offers reiki, crystal healing and CBD oil massages. A raw bar opens for this year. Scott Dunn offers seven nights at Oku Ibiza from £1,800 per person in a superior room, including B&B, flights and private transfers (020 3131 5723; scottdunn.com)
