FUN FOR ALL THE FAMILY

-

Young families are some of the fastest converts to the all-inclusive club and Grecotel’s LUXME collection – with white-on-white hotels on Crete, Kos and Rhodes – is perfect for them. Its latest, Costa Botanica, is set in a protected wetland area in northern Corfu near Lake Antiniotissa, where endangered otters swim and colourful lilies float on the surface. There is animal action back at the hotel too, with Costa Botanica’s own petting zoo featuring cute donkeys and a cooking school for four to 12-yearolds (one session included each week) on top of the more usual arts and crafts, mini discos and film nights.

Children up to the age of 12 can also stay in their parents’ room free of charge – including meals, snacks, kids’ club and access to the hotel’s own aqua park (00 30 266 160 2000; grecotel. com, seven nights from £4,001 for a family of four).

In Turkey, Maxx Royal makes a similar play into the family travel field. At its Maxx Royal Kemer hotel in Antalya, wood-clad rooms discreetly hug the hillside – high-rise stereotype be gone – and the groomed sand of Long Beach is lined with canopied cabanas. Every guest has a Maxx Assistant concierge on hand (via WhatsApp) to plan activities and book restaurants. Tucked away is the huge Maxxiland, where little ones will love the soft play and teenagers will make a beeline for the games consoles before heading to the aquapark or swinging by the in-house chocolatier and ice-cream parlour (00 90 242 444 6299; maxxroyal.com, seven nights from £11,101 for a family of four).
