‘I can’t even afford to eat. I’ve skipped meals’

- BECKY JARVIS Freelance TV runner

Becky Jarvis, 31, from Salford, has been skipping meals because she can no longer afford to eat after her work as a freelance TV runner dried up.

Miss Jarvis, who lives with her parents, has not qualified for Government help because of the way she is taxed on her work.

Her £ 1,000-a- month income was wiped out when the industry closed down. She said she had asked two charities for money to buy food and could not celebrate this Christmas. She said she had lost a relative to coronavirus and was struggling with her mental health. “Why don’t we deserve any financial help?” she said.
