£ 600K FORTUNE
Heir hunters have reunited a £600,000 lost fortune, with links to the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb, with its rightful owners. Reginald Aldham, an architect from Cambridge who was fond of cats and close to his mother, died in December 2019 at the age of 78 without leaving behind a will or any known next of kin. Professional genealogists Finders International found 30 distant relatives who had a claim to Mr Aldham’s legacy. During their research, they found documents dating back to the reign of George V. They revealed Mr Aldham’s grandfather was the butler to the Earl of Carnarvon – an English peer and famously the financial backer for the excavation of Tutankhamun’s tomb, the ancient Egyptian burial site discovered in the Valley of the Kings.
