Teacher jailed for posting nude image of teenager online

-

A PRIMARY school teacher who blackmailed a teenage girl before hacking into her Twitter account to post “revenge porn” has been jailed for 18 months.

Samuel Alexander stole a look at his victim’s laptop and discovered intimate photographs of the girl with her partner.

He blackmailed the girl – who cannot be named for legal reasons – into sending him more sexual images before posting an “extremely intimate” picture of her on- line from her own Twitter page.

The 24-year-old had pursued an interest in the girl over five years, beginning when she was 15, Amersham Crown Court heard.

Judge Karen Holt said: “It’s quite clear to me you developed an extremely unhealthy obsession with your victim. There was a course of conduct that culminated in these criminal offences.

“Your behaviour, regrettably, developed.

“You found digital images she had taken – as she was perfectly entitled to do, they being private images of her and her partner. They were of an explicit nature.

“You stole those images and started a course of conduct that was extremely unpleasant and extremely worrying. The impact of your behaviour is still on her.”

Andrew Morgan, prosecuting, told the court that Alexander had tried to spy on the girl “on numerous occasions” and tried to “feel her breasts over her clothing”.

He added: “These images were of an explicit nature and were not intended for wider distribution – they were for her current boyfriend.”

After stealing the pictures, Alexander took more images from her iPad and forced her to pay him £150.

He later threatened her, and when she refused to give into his demands he took to Twitter to shame the girl.

Alexander, from Speen, Bucks, admitted sexual assault, blackmail, attempted voyeurism and distributing an indecent image at a previous hearing.

He was jailed for 18 months and placed on the sex offenders’ register for seven years.
