Man falls from window ‘trying to escape police’

A man fell from a third-storey window yesterday as he allegedly tried to flee police.

Witnesses said the man plunged from guttering he was clinging to as he attempted to lower himself from a building in Tottenham, north London. He bounced off a roof then hit the pavement. A witness told the London Evening

Standard: “Police were trying to open the door, which was jammed, and then we saw the guy on the third floor. He came out of the window and got hold of the gutter, but it just snapped.”

The man was taken to hospital but the extent of his injuries is unknown.
