McDonald’s shuns peace deal
MCDONALD’S has spurned an offer from rival fast food chain Burger King to collaborate on a dish to celebrate the International Day of Peace.
In the marketing stunt, Burger King proposed to create a “McWhopper”, which would have had six ingredients from the Big Mac and six from its own Whopper burger.
The burger would have been sold only on Sept 21.
But Steve Easterbrook, McDonalds’s chief executive, said: “We love the intention but think our two brands could do something bigger to make a difference.”
