Despite a narrative that gets straight to the point and more fabulously gruesome deaths than its predecessors, this addition to Wes Craven’s horror franchise, which started in the Nineties, is predictable fare. Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox reprise their roles as victim and jaded hack but their performances fail to alleviate the irritatingly selfreferential script. Still, the original cast makes it a nicely nostalgic affair.
