TV station ‘abandoned’ Briton jailed in Lebanon
The family of a former British policeman jailed in Lebanon has accused Australia’s Channel Nine, which broadcasts the 60 Minutes programme of abandoning him.
Adam Whittington runs Child Abduction Recovery International, which was paid by the station to abduct two children from their father in Beirut and return them to Australia. The agency’s team were jailed, along with four reporters. Channel Nine has admitted it paid for the release of its journalists but said the recovery agency was “not part of our team”.
