WINDSOR CASTLE April 26th

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represente­d by Dame Lorna Muirhead (Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside) at the Service of Thanksgivi­ng for the Life of Sir Alan Waterworth (formerly Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside) which was held in Liverpool Cathedral this morning.

The Duke of York was represente­d by the Earl of Derby.

The Prince of Wales this morning received Professor Patrick Pietroni (Director, the Darwin Centre Trust).

His Royal Highness, Patron, the University of Wales Trinity St David, received the Venerable Master Chin Kung.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon received Mr Robin Wight (Chief Executive, the Ideas Foundation) and Miss Xandria Carelse-Dutlow (the Ideas Foundation Scholars’ Council Member).

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited St Mary’s Sexual Assault Referral Centre, the Old St Mary’s Hospital, York Place, Oxford Road, Manchester, to mark its Thirtieth Anniversar­y, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester (Mr Warren Smith).

Her Royal Highness, President, Barnardo’s, this afternoon visited the Big Manchester Project, Gregory’s Place, 69 Ardwick Green North, Manchester.

The Duchess of Cornwall, President, Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres, afterwards opened Maggie’s at the Robert Parfett Building, Kinnaird Road, Withington.

The Duke of York this morning received Mr Kevin Tsai (President, Want Want China Times Media Group).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Golf Foundation, this afternoon received Mr Stephen Lewis upon relinquish­ing his appointmen­t as Chairman and Mr Charles Harrison upon assuming the appointmen­t.

Mr Brendon Pyle (Chief Executive) was present.

His Royal Highness, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Internatio­nal Award Foundation, this afternoon attended a Lunch for the Internatio­nal Golf for Youth Trustees at the Army and Navy Club, 36-39 Pall Mall, London SW1.

The Earl of Wessex, Chancellor, The University of Bath, this evening attended an Alumni Reception at St James’s Palace.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, British Nutrition Foundation, this afternoon attended the Nutrition Science - past, present and future Conference at the Royal Society, 69 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1, and was received by Dr Paul Knapman (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Princess Royal, Past Master, the Worshipful Company of Carmen, this evening attended a Joint Services Awards Dinner at Drapers’ Hall, Throgmorto­n Avenue, London EC2.

The Duke of Gloucester, Royal Patron, Peace and Prosperity Trust, and The Duchess of Gloucester this evening attended a “Building Bridges Through Culture Concert” to celebrate the Fifteenth Anniversar­y of the Arab Internatio­nal Women’s Forum’s at Kensington Palace State Apartments.
