Police chief suspended after ‘breasts row’
A SENIOR policewoman is under investigation amid claims she had an argument with a colleague about who had the most attractive breasts.
Assistant Chief Constable Rebekah Sutcliffe has been suspended by Greater Manchester Police after the reported late-night row in a hotel bar.
The 46-year-old is said to have got into a “loud disagreement” with Superintendent Sarah Jackson about who had the “best boobs” at the Senior Women In Policing conference.
It is unknown who started the row, but the Mail on Sun
day reported a source claiming that ACC Sutcliffe had been “comparing” breasts with Supt Jackson.
ACC Sutcliffe has been suspended for allegations of “inappropriate behaviour” by the force, which last week apologised after a fake Muslim terrorist shouted “Allahu akbar” during a training exercise at a Manchester shopping centre.
Supt Jackson is said to not be facing any sanctions over the argument.
The alleged row took place last week during the conference designed to improve the “profile and perception” of female officers at Manchester’s Hilton hotel.
ACC Sutcliffe gave a speech at the event, and other speakers included Sara Thornton, chairman of the National Police Chiefs’ Council, and Baroness Newlove, the Victims’ Commissioner. ACC Sutcliffe told the Mail
on Sunday: “I’ve nothing to say. This is an incredibly stressful time.”
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: “A senior officer has been suspended following allegations of inappropriate behaviour.
“An investigation is under way and it would be inappropriate to make further comment.”
