Former DJ charged with historic child sex abuse
The former Radio 1 DJ Chris Denning has been charged with historical child sex offences as part of a police investigation into a youth disco.
Mr Denning, 75, from London, has been charged with six sexual offences against four boys under the age of 16 during the Sixties and Seventies.
He will appear at Westminster magistrates’ court on July 14.
A Surrey Police spokesman said: “The charges relate to the wider investigation into non-recent sexual offences connected to the Walton Hop Disco named Operation Ravine.”
Three other men were arrested and bailed last September in relation to the inquiry, although one has since died.
