Inspired by a real-life 1993 murder case in South Florida, Larry Clark’s harrowing psychological drama follows a group of teenagers who murder an abusive fellow student. It divides opinion, being labelled a masterpiece by some, and as crassly exploitative by others. Tragically, the film’s star, Brad Renfro, died seven years later aged just 25.
