Tennis? No comment
SIR – I agree strongly with the complaint from Veronica Bliss (Letters, June 7) about tennis commentators.
Their unnecessary and obtrusive chatter ruins it for me. Switching off the sound is the only alternative, which loses the game’s atmosphere. Sheila Hayward Cowes, Isle of Wight SIR – Veronica Bliss should make more use of the “mute” and “subtitles” buttons on her remote control.
I can follow the score myself, as I am sure she can. I don’t have to hear the grunting, the screams or the commentators calling players by their first names. If there is a question about the score, it will appear on the screen. Maureen Holtum Bath
