Flock wanders town as shepherd counts sheep

-

A flock of 1,300 sheep who found their way into the centre of a Spanish city after their shepherd fell asleep had to be rounded up by police.

An alarmed resident called police after spotting the flock attempting to negotiate its way around the streets of Huesca at 4.30am on Tuesday.

The police eventually found the shepherd, still peacefully slumbering. He was meant to be keeping an eye on the animals just outside the city while waiting for the clock to strike 7am, when he was due to guide them through to their summer pastures.
