SIR – How can European leaders talk about strengthening EU unity, as they did at last week’s Malta summit, when it doesn’t require a GCSE in economics to see that the single currency is wrecking the Greek and Latin economies and blowing the EU apart? Germany was the dominant member of the European Union when the exchange rate was set up and has prospered ever since, at the expense of southern Europeans.
