Teacher breaks arm in school Instagram spat

A teacher was left with a broken arm after a spat between two girls about Instagram turned into a brawl.

Police were called to Birches Head Academy in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs, after violence flared on Thursday.

The female teacher was hurt after she slipped as she tried to intervene in the fight. The row broke out between the girls when one of them created an Instagram account and uploaded pictures of another pupil.

Parents said pupils were kept in their classrooms during the incident and claimed there had been 16 fights at the school in just two days.
