Scotland’s golden opportunity

An attempt to boost the number of golden eagles in an area where the bird is rarely seen has attracted lottery funding of £1.3 million. The South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project aims to bring Scotland’s national bird of prey back to Dumfries and Galloway and the Borders after a study suggested the area could support between 10 and 16 breeding pairs.
