Cherylee Houston, who plays Izzy Armstrong in Coronation Street, suffers from chronic pain, but finds it helpful to seek distraction through creative processes. She finds other sufferers who work in creative fields, and discusses how pain interacts with their work – and whether it’s always a hindrance, or if it can be an inspiration. Among the people she meets are the playwright Jack Thorne, who collaborated with JK Rowling to write the script for the West End hit Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and the singer-songwriter Emily Maguire.
