Father’s right to die challenge
A father of three who is not terminally ill is fighting for the right to take his own life with help because he says “animals live better” than he does.
Omid, 54, whose surname cannot be revealed for legal reasons, is raising funds online for a High Court challenge against the law on assisted dying. He has multiple system atrophy, which has left him bedbound, with deteriorating speech and muscles.
He wants assisted suicide to be made available to anyone who is suffering, not only the terminally ill.
