Elton and his mother back in touch after 9 years of silence
♦ Sir Elton John has revealed that he and his mother have rekindled their relationship after almost nine years of not speaking to each other.
He and Sheila Farebrother are “back in touch” after a bacterial infection he contracted in South America put him in intensive care.
They had not spoken to each other since June 2008, when the pair argued. However, on Sunday – Mother’s Day in the United States – Sir Elton posted a picture of the pair, taken in July 2002, on Instagram with the caption: “Dear Mum, Happy Mother’s Day! So happy we are back in touch. Love, Elton xo.”
