‘Stones’ in boxes are 330 tortoises

Malaysian authorities have seized 330 exotic tortoises from Madagascar worth more than £200,000 in the latest case of illegal wildlife being smuggled into the country. Deputy customs director Abdul Wahid Sulong said the live tortoises were packed into five boxes and labelled as stones. They were found after a tip-off.

He said the tortoises arrived via Etihad Airways on Sunday.
