Loriners' Company The Lord Mayor, Ald Dr Andrew Parmley, was the guest speaker at the annual Livery Banquet of the Loriners’ Company held last night at the Mansion House. The Master, Dr George Anderson, presided and the Upper Warden, Judge Patrick Clyne, the Under Warden, Mr Peter English, and Lord Lingfield also spoke. During the evening, the Master presented a donation to the Lord Mayor for his 2017 Appeal. Among others present were: The Prime Wardens of the Saddlers' and Blacksmiths’ Companies and the Masters of the Glovers’ Company and the Cordwainers’ of York.
United and Cecil Club Mr Michael Gove, MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, was the guest speaker at a dinner held by the United and Cecil Club last night at the Carlton Club. Mr Simon Hart, MP, was in the chair and Mr Simon Mabey also spoke.
