A party of whalewatchers could not have hoped for a closer encounter with their quarry than the moment this 45-tonne humpback hurled itself across the water six yards from them. Daytripper John Goodridge, a 53-year-old British expat, captured the acrobatics as he and friends were taking in the sights off Sydney harbour.
