Four English Counties have held one day Swiss pairs events, writes Julian Pottage, Bridge Correspondent. Each event comprised seven matches and the winners are as follows:

Essex and Hertfordshire (held at Wodson Park, Ware): 1st Brian Gladman and Tony Verran, 116; 2nd Celia and Derek Oram, 111; and 3rd= Malcolm Burch and Steve Jeffrey, 99; 3rd= Karima Basse and Tim Nash, 99. Gloucestershire and Hereford (held at Larrupez Centre, Ross on Wye): 1st George Richardson and Paul Smith, 100; 2nd Kris Kazmierczak and Sandra

Nottinghamshire (held at East Midlands Bridge Club, Spondon, Derby): 1st Graham Kirby and Ankush Khandelwal, 117; 2nd Jakub and Roman Gembicki, 110; 3rd Clive Case and Chris Challinor, 95; 4th Richard Acaster and Kevin Higgins, 90.
