Elliott’s Akzo battle heats up

Activist investor Elliott Advisers has stepped up its public battle with Akzo Nobel, demanding the Dulux paint maker confirm the date of a meeting to vote on the appointment of Thierry Vanlancker as chief executive. Elliott, Akzo’s largest shareholder, failed in its attempt to get the business to engage in takeover talks with PPG.
