Passengers (2016) SKY CINEMA PREMIERE, 8.00PM ★★★

 Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt’s sinister romance gets lost in space and abruptly turns into a kind of PoseidonGravity mash-up, though it’s perfectly watchable. Pratt plays an engineer who is sleeping in a hibernation pod on a mega spaceship hurtling to a far-off planet. When his pod is jerked open, he wanders the empty ship and falls in love with a sleeping passenger – journalist Aurora Lane. Laurence Fishburne and Martin Sheen also star. This Is England (2006) FILM4, 9.00PM ★★★★★

 One of the boldest British films of recent years, this engaging and savage indie drama has received widespread acclaim. Director Shane Meadows examines the racist skinhead culture of Eighties England. Thomas Turgoose gives a moving performance as Shaun, a 12-year-old who gets involved with a local gang. But his life becomes more complicated when extremism begins to divide the group. Vicky Mcclure, Stephen Graham also feature. Little Voice (1998) BBC ONE, 11.35PM ★★★★

 Michael Caine, Brenda Blethyn and Jane Horrocks star in this bittersweet comedy musical drama based on Jim Cartwright’s hit play. Timid LV (Horrocks) obsesses over her dead father’s records by imitating Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe and Shirley Bassey to perfection. Her talents are discovered by her mother’s (Blethyn) showbiz agent boyfriend (Caine), who hopes to turn her from mouse to megastar.
