Ryanair facing £17m cancelled flights bill
Ryanair could have to pay €20million (£17.6million) in compensation for cancelling the flights of around 400,000 people after “messing up” its pilots’ holiday rota. Michael O’leary, the low-cost airline’s chief executive, apologised for the issue and claimed the company would not argue the “exceptional circumstance”, which could have frustrated passengers’ attempts to claim recompense for any delays or cancellations.
