Car­toon award for Tele­graph’s Bob

The Daily Tele­graph’s Bob Moran has been named Po­lit­i­cal Car­toon­ist of the Year at the Car­toon Art Trust Awards.

Mr Moran has been our week­end car­toon­ist since 2011 and re­cent etch­ings have in­cluded Theresa May de­picted as Blade Runner fol­low­ing her dis­as­trous con­fer­ence speech, and hang­ing from a zip wire in a sim­i­lar vein to Boris John­son.

“Pol­i­tics has got cra­zier and cra­zier and when you’re never short of sub­ject mat­ter the ideas just keep flow­ing,” Mr Moran said. He has also re­ceived crit­i­cal ac­claim for his an­i­mated short film, Fa­ther’s Days, about the birth of his daugh­ter, who has brain dam­age, and how his life sud­denly changed.
