BUCKINGHAM PALACE October 24th
The Queen, Colonel-in-chief, and The Prince of Wales this morning visited the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment at Hyde Park Barracks, London SW7, and were received by the Commander, Household Cavalry (Major General Sir Edward Smyth-osbourne).
Her Majesty and His Royal Highness, escorted respectively by Lieutenant Colonel James Gaselee (Commanding Officer, Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment) and by the Commander, Household Cavalry, toured the Stables of the Regiment, those of the Household Division and associated facilities, including the Forge, meeting Troopers of The Life Guards and The Blues and Royals (Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons), The Queen having first named the Regiment’s new Drum Horse, “Perseus”.

The Prince of Wales, President, the British Asian Trust, this morning attended a Meeting at St James’s Palace.
His Royal Highness this afternoon received the Hon Arthur Lebland (Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia).
The Prince of Wales afterwards received the Rt Hon Priti Patel, MP (Secretary of State for International Development).
His Royal Highness subsequently received representatives of the Muslim communities at St James’s Palace.
The Prince of Wales, President, the British Red Cross Society, this evening held a Reception at St James’s Palace to thank Red Cross volunteers for their efforts earlier this year following the terror attacks in London and Manchester and the Grenfell Tower fire.

The Duke of York this morning arrived at Survarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok, and was received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand (His Excellency Mr Brian Davidson).
His Royal Highness later attended a Luncheon given by Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn at Sa-pathum Palace.
The Duke of York this evening attended a Reception for the British Community given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand at the Residence.

The Princess Royal, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, today carried out the following engagements in Madagascar.
Her Royal Highness this morning visited Feedback Madagascar Projects in Soatanana and Faliarivo.
The Princess Royal this afternoon attended a Service of Thanksgiving to commemorate the Two Hundredth Anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship between the United Kingdom and Madagascar, at Saint Laurent Anglican Cathedral, Ambohimanoro, Antananarivo.
Her Royal Highness his evening attended a Dinner given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Madagascar (His Excellency Mr Timothy Smart) at le Grand Hotel, 46 Rue Colbert, Antsiranana, Diego Suarez.
KENSINGTON PALACE October 24th
The Duke of Gloucester this morning visited St Magnus Church, Birsay, and was received by Mr Keith Johnston (Vice Lord-lieutenant of Orkney).
His Royal Highness afterwards visited St Peter’s Kirk, Sandwick, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Orkney (Mr William Spence).
The Duke of Gloucester this afternoon officially opened the Warehouse Building, 2-12 Victoria Street, Stromness, and was received by Mr Graham Bevan (Deputy Lieutenant of Orkney).
His Royal Highness afterwards visited Stromness Lifeboat Station, South Pier, Stromness.
The Duke of Gloucester subsequently visited Stromness Museum, 52 Alfred Street, Stromness, and was received by Mrs Doris Stout (Deputy Lieutenant of Orkney).
His Royal Highness later visited the Hall of Clestrain.
The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, the Society of the Friends of St Magnus Cathedral Association, this evening attended a Service of Thanksgiving in St Magnus Cathedral, Kirkwall, to mark the Nine Hundredth Anniversary of the death of Earl Magnus.
His Royal Highness, Patron, the Society of the Friends of St Magnus Cathedral Association, afterwards attended the Annual General Meeting at St Magnus Centre, Palace Road, Kirkwall.
The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Friends of St Paul’s Cathedral, this afternoon received Mr Roger Walkinton upon relinquishing his appointment as Deputy Director of Development and Secretary to the Friends.
Her Royal Highness this evening attended a Dinner in support of the Friends of Cathedral Music Diamond Fund for Choristers, at Mansion House, London EC4.
ST JAMES’S PALACE October 24th
The Duke of Kent, President, Commonwealth War Graves Commission, this afternoon arrived in Norway to mark the Seventy Fifth Anniversary of Operation Freshmen (the planned attack on the Norwegian Heavy Water Plant at Vemork) and was received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Norway (Her Excellency Ms Sarah Gillett).
His Royal Highness, President, Commonwealth War Graves Commission, afterwards visited Eiganes Cemetery, Steingata 68, Stavanger.

Princess Alexandra this afternoon visited St Oswald’s Hospice, Regent Avenue, Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Tyne and Wear (Mrs Susan Winfield).
Her Royal Highness afterwards visited Hospitality and Hope, Hampden Street, South Shields, Tyne and Wear.
