Dozens of NHS trusts yet to have fire inspection

-

More than 50 NHS trusts are yet to have a fire service inspection, more than four months after the tragic blaze at Grenfell Tower, figures show.

Health officials urged all NHS trusts to carry out urgent fire safety checks after the disaster on June 14, but 54 have confirmed they have yet to have an inspection, according to the Health Service Journal.

After the fire, 38 NHS organisations were identified as having cladding similar to that used on the west London block. All 38 have since had appropriate tests and remedial action has been taken. An NHS Improvement spokesman told HSJ: “The safety of patients and staff is our top priority.”
