Fatal fall

A schoolboy who ignored warnings from his teacher not to slide down a banister plunged to his death hours later. Michael Sousa (left) suffered head injuries after slipping from a handrail on his school’s third floor, a day after his 12th birthday. The incident at Jane Austen College in Norwich on Jan 23 happened as pupils rushed down the staircase at the end of the day. At an inquest yesterday, the cause of death was recorded as severe traumatic brain injury due to a fall from height.
